Do You Need Mold Testing?

YOU MIGHT NEED MOLD TESTING IF...

Mold Inspection? - No Problem

STEPS TO MOLD INSPECTION

What It Involves.

A certified professional visually inspects the property (interior and exterior) for signs of mold, moisture problems, or conditions that promote mold growth.

Tools used

Moisture meters, thermal imaging, humidity readings, etc.

Purpose

To locate possible mold growth, determine moisture sources, and assess the severity of the situation.

No samples are collected during an inspection alone unless testing is requested.

 Pre-Remediation Testing

Why It’s Important:
Pre-testing is done before remediation or cleanup begins. It helps:

  • Determine the extent of mold contamination

  • Establish a baseline for comparison

  • Guide remediation professionals in creating a treatment plan

This is especially useful for documentation in insurance claims or legal situations.

Post-Remediation Testing (Clearance Testing)

Why It’s Critical:
After mold remediation is complete, post-testing is conducted to:

  • Confirm that mold has been effectively removed

  • Ensure indoor mold spore levels have returned to normal/healthy ranges

  • Provide clearance documentation for tenants, buyers, or insurance

This step offers peace of mind and proof of a job well done.
